Retro RPG Characters

A few character designs done in a sort of boxy retro style.  The final designs wound up being quite a bit boxier than this but these characters had a good feel.

Next steps

Beginning and end phases of another character design.  Half way through the coloring process I decided her facial expression felt a little too surprised or scared.  I was going for something a little more aggressive and angry so I adjusted her eyes and eyebrows a bit.

Roughs

The first stage of character development.  The silhouette roughs.  This one was for an insect themed villain.

Loosen up

A quick cartoony sketch.  Forcing myself to loosen up a little.  I even colored outside the lines just a little bit.  I'm not even sure what that thing is.

More than a year later I remember that I haven't actually posted any artwork to this blog.  Now I'm going to start posting things for real...seriously this time.
